Yoga should feel good but also invite a little fun and a lot of expression and intention into our lives. Karen hones in on all of these elements, leading breath-centered classes that draw out the sweat and narrow in on both physical and mental focus. In 2004, Karen began practicing yoga as a way to integrate a healthy balance of movement and stillness into her life. Today, she delivers this balance through group yoga classes and private sessions in yoga and Thai massage. Having trained under the direction of Schuyler Grant and Nikki Vilella at Kula Yoga Project in New York City, Karen weaves energy, fluidity, play, and tons of hands-on assists into her teaching. A self-proclaimed arm balance and inversion junkie, she is naturally drawn to the upside down side of asana, but equally values the strong foundation and steadiness in being right side up. Whether standing on two feet, two hands, or all of the above, she finds a sense of grounding in both her practice and her teaching. Karen offers students an opportunity to find their edge, settle into their body and breath, and safely arrive home within their practice. karenshelleyyoga.com
