Deanna celebrates the practices of Yoga as powerful tools for freeing the body, mind, and heart and embracing the true Self.
After graduating from Rutgers University, Deanna went on to study acting and movement at Maggie Flanigan Studio in NYC where she first acknowledged the extent of her chronic back and sciatic pain due to scoliosis and injury. After experimenting with many avenues of alternative therapy, she discovered Yoga and began to deepen her understanding of our innate ability for healing and transformation.
Her classes are infused with passion for the power of yogic philosophy, ayurveda, and the exploration of conscious breath, alignmnet, and movement flowing into stillness. She challenges students to recognize opportunities to watch the mind dance, confront patterns and comfort zones, and float on the waves of experience that surge along the way. She practices to cultivate compassionate attention and honesty and hopes to inspire others to do the same.
Deanna completed two teacher trainings at Laughing Lotus with Dana Flynn, Alison Cramer, and Stacey Brass, studied ayurveda at The DINacharya Institute/AVP Academy in India, and is an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor. She is eternally grateful for her meditation teacher, Sri Sri Sri Shivabalayogi, the Go Yoga community, and for the presence of all of her teachers.
